02

Extending Access to Academic Knowledge

Jahangirnagar University’s Institutional Repository collects, preserves, and distributes theses, research project reports, and other academic materials. This supports access to scholarship and enables learning beyond individual classrooms and departments.

03

Technical Training and Continuing Learning

The Institute of Remote Sensing and GIS provides skills development training, undertakes research, and facilitates knowledge sharing. Its activities connect technical education with socioeconomic and ecological challenges associated with disasters and climate change.

The university has also reported a training workshop on “Building a Complete Agricultural Block Model Using GIS and Remote Sensing,” demonstrating applied learning relevant to agricultural mapping and planning.

04

Career Guidance and Professional Development

The Students Counselling and Guidance Centre organises career-planning workshops, skills development activities, and job fairs involving companies and NGOs. These activities help connect academic learning with employment and internship opportunities. The centre also publishes information on UNDP’s Futurenation skills development and scholarship opportunities.

05

Supporting Educational Participation

Published university notices include supplementary scholarships, trust fund scholarships, and financial grants for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Other notices concern government stipends for students from minority communities and students with visual and other disabilities. These opportunities can help eligible learners address financial barriers to education.

06

Special Needs Education and Accommodation

Jahangirnagar University operates a Special Needs Education Centre serving children and young adults with special needs. Its stated mission includes education, therapeutic intervention, community acceptance, and research supporting autism-related well-being. This community provision is distinct from accommodation for students enrolled in university degree programmes.

The university also published a September 2026 notice on additional examination time for autistic students.

07

Student Well-being and Learning Support

The Students Counselling and Guidance Centre provides counselling, psychosocial support, individual and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and guidance. These services support students in addressing challenges that may affect their personal development and academic participation.

08

Education for Sustainable Development

Published teaching information includes Sustainable Development, Climate Resilient Development, and Environmental Science and Sustainability. Biodiversity-related curricula and conservation awareness activities further connect education with environmental responsibility.

09

International Academic Exchange

Jahangirnagar University’s agreement with Lincoln University College, Malaysia, provides a framework for joint education and research, student and faculty exchanges, publications, training, certification, and internships.
