No university solves sustainability alone. Goal 17 asks institutions to work with others, and Jahangirnagar's recent calendar shows a steady stream of memoranda of understanding with universities, professional bodies, companies and NGOs.
The agreements

- 13 November 2024: the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
- 18 November 2024: United International University, Eminence Associates for Social Development, the RMG Sustainability Council and Action Against Hunger.
- 6 February 2025: the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB).
- 20 May 2025: Daffodil International University.
- 17 August 2025: Lincoln University College, Malaysia.
- 21 June 2026: the Department of Patents, Industrial Designs and Trademarks under the Ministry of Industries.
What they open up
The agreement with Lincoln University College provides a framework for joint education and research, faculty and student exchanges, publications, training workshops, professional certification and internships. The agreement with the Department of Patents, Industrial Designs and Trademarks connects the university with the national intellectual property system, and followed an Intellectual Property Rights workshop for teachers in April 2025 that was inaugurated by a University Grants Commission member.
Beyond signatures
Partnerships also happen in less formal ways: the Vice-Chancellor took part in the British Council's South Asia Deep Dialogue on widening access to quality tertiary education in Colombo, faculty have joined DAAD-organised climate workshops, the Vice-Chancellor was chief guest at a job fair organised by the Bangladesh Institute of Planners, and JU is a member of SDSN Bangladesh, supporting national SDG implementation with research, data and expertise.
An agreement is a starting point. As projects, exchanges and training programmes get under way under each memorandum, the Sustainability Office will report what they deliver.
