Career Guidance and Employability

The Students Counselling and Guidance Centre provides career guidance and organises job fairs involving national and multinational companies and NGOs. Its published information identifies employment and internship opportunities, career-planning workshops, and professional skills development among its activities.

Skills Development Opportunities

The centre also publishes resources on UNDP’s Futurenation scholarship opportunities and skills development training for Jahangirnagar University students. These opportunities support preparation for employment and professional development.

Professional Training and Internships

Jahangirnagar University’s agreement with Lincoln University College, Malaysia, provides a framework for professional training, certification, internships, and academic exchanges.

Research and Innovation

The Wazed Miah Science Research Centre provides scientific facilities supporting research and advanced training. The university’s agreement with the Department of Patents, Industrial Designs and Trademarks also establishes a connection with Bangladesh’s intellectual property system. These activities are relevant to developing research capacity and opportunities for innovation.

  1. 6 February 2025

    An MoU was signed with the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB).

  2. 7 January 2025

    The Digital Skill for Students workshop supported employment-relevant skills development.

2024

  1. 31 December 2024

    The university distributed number plates and vests to rickshaw drivers through its Estate Section. This is also relevant to transport identification and safety.

  2. 20 December 2024

    The Vice-Chancellor participated as chief guest in a job fair organised by the Bangladesh Institute of Planners in Dhaka.

  3. 13 November 2024

    An MoU was signed with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
